Customer Review: Not for Windows 7, 64 bit
Summary: 1 Stars

Stay away from this one if you have Windows 7, 64 bit.

I bought this printer as an upgrade to an included printer with a new computer. My wife and I didn't care for it as soon as we started using it. We like to keep our printer handy and covered with a dust cover when not in use. On this printer, the paper is loaded vertically at the rear, so if you leave the paper there, it gets in the way of any cover and develops a curl. The included install CD was useless for Windows 7 so I had to call Epson for support. After two downloads from their web site, one file taken off the CD, and some manual manipulation, the printer worked - until I tried to print a photo. I wanted to "preview" the photo before I actually printed it and the setup wasn't user friendly at all. Then when I clicked on preview, I got the Windows black screen of death. Windows tried to recover from the operation automatically for the first three attempts, but then my new computer just crashed. Then, just to shut down the printer, it takes three operations; you push the off button and the screen asks about saved faxes, you have to select yes, and then the printer tells you to push yet another button. My wife never shut it down because it was a pain in the butt. We took the printer back and replaced it with a far superior HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless. Installation was a snap and fully automatic and it only takes one button for any of the functions.

Customer Review: Ink gobbling POS
Summary: 1 Stars

I have owned Epson printers for years as I use them for artistic purposes I love the print quality and ease of use. So when I went to purchase a new printer I got a brand new epson but this thing is a money pit!!!!! I have never put so much ink into a printer for so little!!!! I am replacing ink every other month and barely using any. I used to replace my cartridges every 3-6 months depending on what I was doing now I have done very little and every-time I sit down I have to replace again. Also you can't print in B&W or copy while a color cartridge is out of ink!!!!! frustrating, money sucking, no easier or better quality then any other brand!! DONT BUY THIS MODEL

Customer Review: DO NOT BUY AN THIS PRINTER!!!!!!!!!111
Summary: 1 Stars

Do yourself a favor and skip this or any other Epson - we have had to exchange this printer three times and the one we now have doesn't work either - its just a frustrating poorly built, poorly serviced piece of junk. Do Not Buy an Epson - we will never make this mistake again.

Customer Review: Logic Embedded Prevents Printing on Workforce 500 with only One Empty Cardridge
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought an Epson Workforce 500 printer and just found out on Christmas Eve when I needed to print something that EPSON has an ABSOLUTELY MANIPULATIVE AND IDIOTIC EMBEDDED LOGIC in their printer that will not let me print because ONE cartridge is expended. They ESCASERBATE THEIR STUPIDITY by not allowing me to remove the one of four cartridges and print without it.

Customer Review: Watch out for the Ink cost
Summary: 3 Stars

This would be a great printer if it didn't suck down the ink. I've owned a ton of printers and this one uses more ink than any other. It seems like great deal for the price and features but the ink cost will quickly offset any benefit
